Short-Term Chiropractic Care

What is it?

Short-Term Chiropractic, also known as acute care, refers to the immediate management of a specific condition using any necessary forms of treatment. This generally involves between 4 to 12 visits to initially address and overcome the pain or dysfunction that you have when coming into our office. Our doctors of chiropractic will be able to discuss this with you fully after your new patient exam.

Why do we use it?

We realize that each patient will have unique goals when it comes to treatment and take that into consideration when outlining visits and options to help you feel better. Don’t let the fear of incredibly long or expensive treatment plans prevent you from feeling and moving your best!

Dry Needling

What is it?

Dry needling is a technique used to treat musculoskeletal pain and/or movement issues. It works by inserting thin needles through the skin to treat underlying points of tissue pain and tension, often called trigger points.

Why do we use it?

By directly stimulating the painful tissue, dry needling can reduce muscle tension and pain by increasing the blood flow to an area and stimulating the release of endorphins, which occur naturally in our body to help manage pain.

Sports Injury Treatment

What is it?

The vast majority of sports injuries do not need surgery. Instead, a combination of soft tissue work, joint manipulation, and rehab exercises provide improved long term relief. We work with all levels of athletes from youth, to collegiate, to professional and olympic athletes.

Why do we use it?

Chiropractors are often the best choice for treating a wide variety of sports injuries. Our doctors are trained to diagnose and treat many common sports injuries such as rotator cuff injuries, tennis elbow, achilles tendinitis, iliotibial band syndrome, runner’s knee, and so many more. If your condition may be surgical or benefit from other medical interventions such as injections, we have an orthopedic surgeon in our office. Let us help you with your sports injury!

Shockwave Therapy

What is it?

Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Technology (EPAT), also known as Shockwave, is a highly effective, non-invasive treatment method that accelerates the healing of injured body tissues. It uses a unique set of pressure waves focused at the injury site to stimulate the metabolism, enhance blood circulation, and accelerate the healing process.

Why do we use it?

EPAT can be used to treat acute or chronic muscle, tendon, or soft tissue pain that significantly impairs mobility or quality of life. Our patients have had great results in improving their healing from tendonitis/tendinopathy, muscle strains, ligament sprains, fascial pain, frozen shoulder, and plantar fasciitis with using EPAT.

Cold Laser Therapy

What is it?

Laser treatment (also known as phototherapy and low level laser therapy) involves the application of low power coherent light to injuries to accelerate recovery and reduce pain. Our Multi Radiance Medical Laser has an FDA clearance and is a safe and effective option in helping you overcome your pain.

Why do we use it?

The effects of low level laser treatments are photochemical, leading to biochemical and physiological changes at the cellular level of healing. This non-invasive and drug-free modality is effective in dealing with both chronic pain and the early stages of acute injuries.

Personalized Exercise Programs

What is it?

Exercise is by far one of the most important things we can do for our general health and wellbeing. However, we know that it can be daunting to know which exercises or stretches will be beneficial for your specific situation, so we help tailor specific progressions of exercises to help you achieve your goals.

Why do we use it?

By using both injury-specific and full body integrated exercises, we want to help you move and feel better than ever before. Whether it is rehabilitation of an injured muscle or generalized deconditioning, exercise is an important component of our health and function.

Wellness/Maintenance Chiropractic Care

What is it?

Wellness care, also known as maintenance or performance care, refers to when patients may choose to come for routine treatments throughout the year to help achieve their overall health goals.

Why do we use it?

Our treatments are meant to improve how you move and feel and can be beneficial no matter your stage of life. Routine treatments can help address the daily impacts of our work and lives by addressing mobility and functional issues before they lead to pain. Our wellness patients range from professional athletes to retirees, with each patient receiving treatments tailored for their health and fitness goals.

Manual (By Hand) Adjustments

What is it?

Manual adjustments (also known as joint manipulation) involve the mobilization of joints to increase the range of motion and function of joints. By using their hands and applying a sudden and controlled force to your joints, our doctors of chiropractic can help you reduce pain and improve mobility. Because of the motion, this type of treatment may cause popping or clicking sounds that are the result of joint manipulation.

Why do we use it?

Spinal Adjustments have been shown to be a safe and effective treatment option for patients with back pain, neck pain, and headaches. Extremity adjustments to the joints of the arms and legs can also be beneficial in managing pain from arthritis, gait abnormalities, and joint stiffness. All patients receive an examination prior to treatment where they can discuss concerns and all treatment options.

Instrument Assisted (low force) Adjustments

What is it?

Instrument assisted adjustments use handheld tools that can provide gentle and targeted mobilization of the joints all throughout the body. Just like more traditional approaches, these lower force adjustments improve motion, function, and sensation of the body region adjusted.

Why do we use it?

Instrument assisted adjustments are beneficial in treating patients who would benefit from gentler adjusting techniques. This form of adjustment can be beneficial for patients that are hypermobile, pregnant, or have osteoporosis. Some of our patients even prefer it because it does not result in “clicking” or “popping” sounds of the joint.

Manual Soft Tissue Therapies

What is it?

Manual soft tissue therapy involves the chiropractic doctor using their hands to mobilize muscles, tendons, ligaments, or other connective tissues that may be tight or restricted and contributing to your pain.

Why do we use it?

Soft tissue manual therapies help to restore the mobility of fascia (the connective tissue around muscles), increase blood flow, and reduce pain. Manual therapy may be used in your treatment to help improve your recovery from muscle strains, ligament sprains, and adhesions of the tissue (e.g. scar tissue).

Nutritional Counseling

What is it?

Supporting nutritional intake can include our chiropractic doctors recommending dietary changes or supplementing with vitamins or minerals. While we do carry some trusted brands of supplements in our clinic, our goal is to provide you with the information and tools to create a balanced diet to help achieve your goals.

Why do we use it?

Nutrition is an integral component of our health and can contribute to overall health and the ability to heal and recover from injury. The supplements that we carry in our clinic are high-quality, affordable options that can help improve your recovery and health. Specifically, nutritional supplementation can be used to help manage migraine headaches, muscle soreness and cramping, as well as general fatigue.

Cupping

What is it?

Cupping involves using plastic or silicone cups to create suction and decompression over a specific area of the body. It originated in China and West Asia thousands of years ago and modern research continues to show its effectiveness when used in conjunction with other chiropractic services.

Why do we use it?

Cupping is an additional myofascial release technique that we can use to support mobilization and healing of a painful or restricted body area. Cupping can help alleviate pain and stiffness associated with arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, back pain, neck pain, and muscle tightness.

Custom Orthotics

What is it?

Custom Orthotics are inserts that go into your shoes for work, running, sports, or everyday use. They can be a custom insert made from a mold of your foot or an off the shelf insert that is customized for your specific needs.

Why do we use it?

Custom orthotics are used to treat a wide variety of foot and lower extremity problems including plantar fasciitis, morton’s neuromas, achilles tendonitis, etc. They can also be used as part of treating low back pain that may be caused by abnormal foot biomechanics.

Car Accident Injury Treatment

What is it?

Car accidents can result in a variety of stresses and injuries to the spine and surrounding soft tissues. After a car accident, our doctors will perform a thorough physical exam to determine the degree and severity of injury, which may involve x-ray examination to assess for bone fractures or other structural changes. Treatment usually involves a combination of treatments offered in our clinic that is tailored to your specific needs.

Why do we use it?

After a car accident, you may experience pain and soreness of your musculoskeletal system (muscles, joints, and nerves), which chiropractors are specifically trained to treat. Adjustments and soft tissue therapies can help relieve the symptoms of whiplash, neck pain, and low back pain that may occur after the accident.

On-Site Digital X-ray

What is it?

X-rays are an advanced imaging method to visualize bone and joint structure. Our high-definition digital x-ray system reduces your overall radiation exposure and is an incredibly safe imaging option.

Why do we use it?

While many patients do not require X-rays as part of an initial exam, X-rays can be a useful tool in assessing the potential causes of musculoskeletal pain. X-rays help us to visualize bone fractures, arthritis, and other joint abnormalities.

Normatec Recovery Boots (Compression Therapy)

What is it?

Ditch those sore muscles and upgrade your wellness routine with Normatec. Warm up quickly, recover faster, and feel fully revived with this restorative massage of the legs or hips.

Why do we use it?

Normatec’s compression therapy increases circulation and helps you maintain your full range of motion, allowing you to recover faster. Normatec helps with lymphatic drainage, and decreases pain and soreness so you can continue to compete and perform at your desired level.

Decompression Therapy

What is it?

Decompression therapy is a non-surgical procedure that effectively relieves joint or nerve pain by reducing the pressure on spinal discs and joints, through unloading created by traction and positioning.

Why do we use it?

Spinal decompression therapy relieves pain associated with disc herniation, degenerative discs, facet pain, sciatica, stenosis, and radiating neck or low back pain. Additionally, there are some non-spinal conditions that can be improved through decompression of the arm or leg including carpal tunnel and knee/hip pain.
